Every project which is realised with government funds needs to begin by having an approved study which follows the national system for public investments (SNIP). Taking into account Espacio Expresión’s objectives include ‘proposing and promoting participative strategies for the integral transformation of communities through public spaces’, the association has developed a wide experience in the realisation of studies which will allow new interventions in public investment projects, such as parks, public squares, streets or even social development programs.
In 2011 and 2012 Espacio Expresión carried out studies for the improvement and recovery of Tambo de Belén Street, Parque de la Cultura Square and Daniel Alcides carrion Park in Lima’s City Centre. The studies incorporated a participatory design methodology and was carried out researching into all relevant concepts inherent in a public space project, from a multidisciplinary approach.
